Requiem to Georgia Gibbs
Just now I learned Georgia Gibbs (Born Fredda Gibson) died last saturday in New York's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center because of leukemia.She will be most remembered for outselling Etta James (with a cover of "The Wallflower" renamed "Dance with Me Henry") and LaVern Baker (on "Tweedle Dee").
Here (In the comments you can get the neccesary info) I present some other (early and lesser known) songs by her : Gibbs, Georgia - Red hot_Ballin' the jack 1951 (recording Date 1949_1952).

Great stuff - I didn't know these recordings existed.
Don't expect too many downloads from this one - only those from my generation would remember her and would appreciate these tracks.
