On this day 1929 : Anne Frank
May we never forget the things that happened all over the world 1939-1945.
May we learn from that dark period.
Look at Wikipedia to read about Anne Frank.
May we live in peace/harmony/respect together.
And we can do that ! Why not ? We can !
Just from last weeks.
A soccer hooligan came to me. Always involved with the police. He knows I like 'the other soccer club'. I called him dirty hooligan. He named me dirty old bold headed man. We laughed. We know how to deal with each other.
A political left wing guy visited me. Organizes political demonstrations. Little discussion as always (for over 20 years). We never agree and make jokes of each other's 'point of view'. He left saying 'see ya next time'.
Had an appointment with a deep religious Muslim family. In the past we talked a lot about (their and my) religion. We know how to treat each other : with respect. Mother (understandably) wears a burka. No problem taking it off for me, a Catholic guy. Made a new appointment, gave without thinking the paper to the guy (he was simply the nearest to me). A little wink with her fingers : she had to have it !
I smiled and made remark 'you're really the boss'. 'Yes', she replied, 'he has to listen to me' ! We all laughed again.
Despite our differences we all can/should live together in harmony ! Quite easy !
