Les Paul & Mary Ford - Lovers' Luau 1959

A very nice 'vintage' or 'lounge' record from the year 1959.
Although Mary Ford is mentioned on this LP and she's on the LP sleeve she's hardly present. This LP is an instrumental. From time to time you can hear Mary Ford in the background, that's all.

01 Blue Hawaii
02 Drifting and Dreaming
03 King's Serenade
04 Song of the Islands
05 Sweet Leilani
06 To You Sweetheart, Aloha
07 On the Beach at Waikiki
08 Golden Sands
09 My Little Grass Shack
10 Hawaiian Charms
11 Pacific Breeze
12 Farewell to Thee (Aloha Oe)

When you listen to this (in my opinion) great LP you will hear, along with the crackles, some really noticable 'track skips'. Sorry for that but it gives 'authenticy' to real 27 minutes (the average LP time in those years was just 30 minutes...) listening pleasure.
Of course nowadays all that would be 'removed' with Cool Edit professional (which I use).

To be continued in the comments (where you yourself might as well ....).

Of course you understand to replace twice the '#' in an 'a' otherwise you don't have a 'valid' link !!

Pass : 070915

File is a small 25MB, 'cause the songs are only in 128kbits

When you see this in Google cache (or alike or through using the search function in my Blog) you actually have to go to my Blog and this comment otherwise you cannot copy/paste this !
If you don't wanna come to me of course you can also write the link down and type it afterwards...... :-)

So go back to 'Google search' and click on my main 'Blog link' instead of the 'Google cache'.
Or click on this page on 'home' and go to the '2007 september archives'.

And when you want to have this LP you can, while downloading, easily tell me (and other viewers) why you like to listen to it. Don't you agree ?

OK Jean - here is more than a "please re-up" comment. :) I always thought it odd that Mary Ford is only doing background vocals only and then only on some of the songs. I knew that at this point they were having trouble in their marriage, so I assumed that could be partly why. Later, though, I read an interview with Les where he said that she was in the hospital with hepatitis when this album was being recorded, and he would take recording equipment there so she could record the vocals. Talk about a workaholic...that's the reason the marriage ended too. He didn't know when to stop.

Thanks for the additional info.
The link is valid : Last Download: 19.10.2008 04:25:58.
So be careful by copy-paste and not add an extra blank at the end.
It must work, good luck and see you around.
