Today 1938 Eddie Cochran was born

First an important political note of interest (to me anyway...).
1990 - Re-unification of Germany. The German Democratic Republic (DDR) ceased to exist and its territory became part of the Federal Republic of Germany (BRD). East German citizens became part of the European Community, which later became the European Union. Now celebrated as German Unity Day.

But you come to me just to get some music.....
Ray Edward 'Eddie' Cochran (October 3, 1938 – April 17, 1960) was an early American rockabilly musician and an important influence on popular music during the late 1950s and early 1960s.

A very nice (a 'must have') 7 minute Youtube video The Eddie Cochran Story.

Somehow, time has not accorded Eddie Cochran quite the same respect as other early rockabilly pioneers like Buddy Holly, or even Ricky Nelson or Gene Vincent. This is partially attributable to his very brief lifespan as a star: he only had a couple of big hits before dying in a car crash during a British tour in 1960. He was in the same league as the best rockabilly stars, though, with a brash, fat guitar sound that helped lay the groundwork for the power chord. He was also a good songwriter and singer, celebrating the joys of teenage life — the parties, the music, the adolescent rebellion — with an economic wit that bore some similarities to Chuck Berry. Cochran was more lighthearted and less ironic than Berry, though, and if his work was less consistent and not as penetrating, it was almost always exuberant.

Eddie Cochran is more revered today in Britain than the United States, due in part to the tragic circumstances of his death.
In the spring of 1960, he toured the United Kingdom with Gene Vincent, to a wild reception, in a country that had rarely had the opportunity to see American rock & roll stars in the flesh. En route to London to fly back to the States for a break, the taxi cab they were riding in (with his girlfriend and songwriter Sharon Sheeley and Gene Vincent) had a severe accident.
Gene Vincent and Sharon Sheeley survived, but Eddie Cochran died less than a day later, at the much to young age of 21.

So today I present to you the only issued album when Eddie was still alive.

Singin' to my baby was issued on Liberty in 1957_november in the USA and issued on London early 1958 (with some extra tracks) in the UK.
Nice songs like Sittin' In The Balcony, Twenty Flight Rock (written by Eddie and which Paul McCartney sang at his first meeting with John Lennon...), Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, One kiss and Cradle baby.
I've added 9 scans of both LP sleeves (front & back) as well as the records themselves. Look in my text file to see the differences.
If you wanna have this vinyl LP, as well as the video, hurry up to the comments.

My goodness - BOTH versions! Thanx much. (In spite of getting me hooked on Rob Zombie - Living Dead Girl seems to be cut short, but Pussy Liquor is a real gem!)

@Anonymous.
Fifteen months after I posted this and numerous downloads.... a second (2...) comment.......
And even a complaint instead of being gratefull....
I don't wanted my Blog to be a 'mp3-corner' but hoped for discussions about the music. Sadly hardly the case.

hard to find artworks : that's exactly why....... People are sooo greedy...
Suppose you'd even want me to ship albums for free to your home ?? :-(

Anonymous... (..??..) Tell us all your blog/site so we can see how you do.
