Today 1978 Sandy Denny died

Alexandra Elene Maclean Denny, known as Sandy was born 1947_january_06 and died today 1978_april_21 (at the much too young age of 31) of a traumatic mid-brain hemorrhage, due to complications arising from a fall down stairs.
She was an English singer and songwriter. The late Sandy Denny is revered as the pre-eminent British folk rock singer. She emerged in the mid Sixties while still a teenager, performing on the folk revival scene where she displayed her mastery of traditional singing and interpretation.
Search her name in Google or Yahoo and you will be prompted with all the info you want.

Before she joined in 1968 Fairport Convention (click the label below) and became worldwide famous she recorded earlier in 1967 in Denmark as member of The Strawbs an album called All our own work. Issued in Denmark in 1968 and later on in 1973, for obvious reasons, also in the UK and other countries.
It contains one of her best known songs Who Knows Where the Time Goes (Judy Collins recorded the song, helping to bring Sandy Denny attention) but also most of the others songs are of great musical quality.

These versions are all now deleted and the album has not so far (2007) been reissued on CD format. Most of the tracks resurfaced on the 1991 release "Sandy Denny and the Strawbs" (Hannibal Records HNBL 1361) albeit different mixes and some with additional strings.

Here is that superb album which I must have bought beginning 70's.

Note : full screen window gives you the best view of the comments !

'Clickable' links are for you downloaders soooo convienent but the disadvantage is they don't seem to 'last' long.
The Blogger gets a lot of comments 'please re-up'...... Other, more appropriate/interesting comments, they sadly don't get.... :(
So you will have to do a little work to get the link.
This seems, in my opinion, the best deal between 'protecting' my links and the least effort for you.

Link :
http://r#pidsh#re.com/files/109210425/D_S_S-Aoow_68.rar
Of course you understand to replace in r#pidsh#re twice the # in an a otherwise you don't have a 'valid' link !!
Paste this valid link in your browser-url and hit RETURN. You can also copy/paste the link into your 'downloadmanager'.

Pass to extract the file : 080421
The file is a small 30MB, 'cause the songs are only in low bitrate 128kbits.
Please donnut give a nasty comment about that, neither about the sleeve.

The next depends, amongst other things, on your security options in your browser and by so the ability to copy/paste the link.

When you see this in Google or Yahoo cache or by my Blog's search function read first the RED instructions at the top left of my Blog !

Thanks for this early SD (and for two more BH Purple Chicks).

BBC Radio 2 broadcast this documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of SD's death:

Who Knows Where The Time Goes...Sandy Denny
Presented by Bob Harris.

Bob Harris spotlights the life and music of Sandy Denny, in a new documentary marking the thirtieth anniversary of her death.
It explores her early years, the two periods spent as a member of Fairport Convention, her solo work, the circumstances surrounding her death and the legacy of both her songs and recorded material.

Hope someone finds it useful.

Cheers.

Hello Eric,
many thanks for this addition.
A lot of these BBC Radio 2 broadcast documentaries are very interesting. This one is also worth to listen to !
By the way, Eric's file is just 25MB, so you will have it downloaded in notime.

I have this album, but am sure glad I had a look at the comments and noticed the documentary..thanks to you Eric, from Eric.

Not that I'm not grateful for getting the music download, but I think that putting up a non-clickable URL that isn't even spelled with the actual address name (substituting letters for symbols) which then also requires a password, all of which isn't copyable because copying has been disabled - is really making us jump through hoops. I think everyone would agree with me that some of this restriction needs to be loosened just a little.

As stated in my first comment (it's best to re-read it completely and understand it..). Copying is only disabled when you see this in eg google cache (...!).

So you've made it to the comment section and by so you are able to copy/past the link from this comment section.... !!

Have you wondered why (almost) all my links are still valid compared to links of other blogs ???
If I didn't do it this way I'd get every week several requests of "please re-upload"....

It's a choice between a one time effort of a minute by a downloader or a continuesly effort of me as the blogger...
