Chris Barber's Jazz Band - Ice Cream
Chris Barber.... Dixieland music..... Look at the videos of this most famous tune of Chris Barber (originally released 1954) and understand how much fun this kind of music was in them fifties and (early) sixties !
In my personal opinion so much more interesting than todays music....
Left : Chris Barber's Jazz Band - Ice Cream 1972
Right : Played in the old formation 1994.
I scream, you scream,
everybody wants ice cream.
Rock, oh rock my baby roll.
I scream, you scream,
everybody wants ice cream.
Rock, oh rock my baby roll.
And has he Olá and Pepsi-Cola,
then everybody is drinking Coca-Cola.
I scream, you scream,
everybody wants ice cream.
Rock, oh rock my baby roll.
Dubbidubbi ........

I adore Trad Jazz. I started going to live gigs in the late 60s/early 70s when a local pub had a trad night every Friday. I continued until the mid/late 70s.
In the last 30 years ro so, the audience has got older and a lot of venues here in Manchester are closing. When I've attended, I've been one of the youngest there and I'm 60 now! Looks like it's going to die, unfortunately. A real shame as it's such a good "feel good" night out. Great clips, thanks.
