Today 1998 Roy Orbison died

Roy Orbison was born as Roy Kelton Orbison 1936_april_23 in Vernon, Texas, USA and died today in 1988 (when he suffered a heart attack at his mother's house) in Hendersonville, Tennessee, USA.
Hard to believe this happened already 19 years ago, seems to me like yesterday.
Roy Orbison is buried Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles, section D, #97 in an unmarked grave.

Check again my article on 10 november for a few nice 'early recordings' by Roy Orbison.

He made so many hit records and recordings alone or together with others like Carl Perkins, Johhny Cash & Jerry Lee Lewis ('the famous class of 55..') and the Travelling Wilbury's (Carl Perkins, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne & Tom Petty) so it's also hard to believe he was just 52.

It would be obvious to post a greatest hits album with songs like Ooby Dooby, Only the Lonely, In Dreams, Oh Pretty Woman, Crying, Running Scared and You Got It but I suppose you already must have such a thing. So I did choose for an unkown nice quiet 2LP MGM country set (available on 1 CD).
Roy Orbison sings Don Gibson & Hank Williams the Roy Orbison way.

Note : full screen window gives you the best view of the comments !

'Clickable' links are for you downloaders soooo convienent but the disadvantage is they don't seem to 'last' long.
The Blogger gets a lot of comments 'please re-up'...... Other, more appropriate/interesting comments, they don't get.... :(
So you will have to do a little work to get the link.
This seems, in my opinion, the best deal between 'protecting' my links and the least effort for you.

You are smart, ain't ya ? So of course you understand to replace in r#pidsh#re twice the # in an a otherwise you don't have a 'valid' link !!
Paste this valid link in your browser-url and hit RETURN. You can also copy/paste the link into your 'downloadmanager'.

Well, that wasn't difficult, was it ? Now your download takes some time.
Think about the efforts a good Blogger does to compile a nice offer, uploads it to a server, makes a background article.
Shouldn't you, while simply waiting for the download to finish, give some remarks why you want this particular 'share' ?
Of course you should and you will if you are just a littlebit grateful.

This file is a small 50MB, 'cause the songs are only in 128kbits

Thank you.
Both are awesome records. But most of all I love the Don Gibson's versions. I already got this double feature CD and is one of my treasures.
The way that Orbison performes Gibson's material is something outstanding, it seems like out of this world. Beautiful.

Thanks!

I only got to see Roy once, the first time he could not perform due to tonsillitis. What a magical singer. What a wonderful human being. Tanks muchly for this post.

Thanks for Roy Orbison tracks. He is one of the all-time greats.
