Rutles' Beatles parody
If you are unfamiliar with the Rutles I strongly suggest to check Wikipedia_Rutles about this 'UK group' which was a Beatles parody. Read who were 'behind' that group. A 'must' to know if you like the Beatles !
Sorry, but I have to say the Rolling Stones are much better !
Quote from Wikipedia.
The Rutles began life in 1975 as a sketch on Eric Idle's BBC television series Rutland Weekend Television. The initial sketch presented musician Neil Innes (ex-Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band) fronting The Rutles singing "I Must Be In Love", a masterly pastiche of a 1964-era Lennon-McCartney tune. The band name was coined as a continuation of the premise of the TV show on which the skit originated.
The show was presented as a programme produced by a fictional TV network based in the County of Rutland which is the smallest county in England. One of the running jokes was that it was a network run on a very tight shoestring. If the show parodied a topic, it would sometimes use names that were derivative of the word "Rutland". When Idle and Innes created a parody of the Beatles, it was natural word-play for them to devise a band name that sounded like a cross between the Beatles and Rutland. Innes credits Idle with suggesting "Rutles".
Innes was the resident musician/composer for the series, and would create songs with ideas on how they could be presented visually.
It was Innes who came up with the idea of a short skit spoofing the Beatles' film A Hard Day's Night. He had originally written "I Must Be In Love" which he realised sounded very "Beatley" and thought of the Rutles skit. He passed the idea to Idle, who had a separate idea for a sketch about a boring TV documentary maker. Idle and Innes decided to connect the two ideas into one extended filmed sequence, and this was shot for the TV show.
On the Wikipedia page above you see some pictures from the great TV video Rutles - All you need is cash 1978. Nice to watch that !

Today the Beatles are for sale
As I told ya earlier I'm not so into the Beatles. As I've understood real Beatles fans mostly vote Revolver as their best album. To me it's Beatles for sale. Nice rock'n'roll music.
Here's the Beatles for sale Purple Chick three CD de luxe edition.
CD 1 and 2 contain the normal album both in stereo and mono with some bonustracks.
CD 3 contains some outtakes. See the scan below.
All together about three hours music.
To get this all into one file of 100MB max I had to use bitrate 80kbs. In my opinion it still sounds great.
I know it's available elsewhere on the inter-net in a much higher bitrate.
But if you will be satisfied with my low sample go to the comments.

Beatles Acetates collection 1969

What's left? Beware of the so-called "1969 acetate". It was made in early 1988 by the same guys who originally did "The Quarrymen At Home" LP.
Manfred Weissleder, February 2002
The above is a quote from my last monday's article Beatles (aka Beatals) - The Braun Kirchherr Original April 1960 Tapes.
Well here's for ya that Beatles Acetates Collection 1969.
Known songs but quite special because of those original acetates !

Beatles the Braun-Kirchherr tapes 1960_april
Beatles (aka Beatals) - The Braun Kirchherr Original April 1960 tapes.
In April 1960 during the school vacation Paul borrowed a neighbour's tape recorder to record the then-called "Beatals" in his family home at No.20 Forthlin Road in Liverpool. In 1961 different tapes from these sessions were given to their friends in Hamburg, Hans Walther Braun and Astrid Kirchherr. In the late 70's Frank Dostal borrowed both original tapes and spliced them together in the Teldec studio on Heussweg is Hamburg. He made three copies, one for Hans Walther Braun, one for Astrid Kirchherr and one for himself.
In April 1988 some tracks of one of these copies were released on the German LP "The Quarrymen At Home". Soon later most of the other tracks were released on a Dutch double LP called "John, Paul, George and Stu - Liverpool May 1960". The final missing vocal track "The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise" finally made it on Belmo's "Happy Christmas" single in 1991. All future CD releases were lifted from these sets which unfortunately were heavily compressed and edited. Even the official "Anthology Vol.1" double CD has the reverb and echo that was added to the tape in 1988! So it's not copied from the source tape but from the vinyl bootleg.
For the first time now you have the chance to listen to the material lifted from the original source tape. To be honest, there are still some little snippets missing but many tracks are one or two seconds longer than on any previous release and one song for the first time ever could be heard in it's entirely: "Well Darling" on all previous releases was shortened from the original 5'06" to about 2'30" or 3'30". Here it is in full length without any fades or edits!
What's left? Beware of the so-called "1969 acetate". It was made in early 1988 by the same guys who originally did "The Quarrymen At Home" LP. Now relax, float downstream and enjoy the Beatals as nature intended!
Manfred Weissleder, February 2002
WARNING. In my opinion this is only worthy to real Beatles fans who yet don't have this. To them it's a real 'gem' !! If you just like Beatles' music you may be disappointed. Make your choice : going to the comments or not.

Beatles, Rolling Stones & Elvis Presley weeks
Possible articles in the near future.None really scheduled.
As I told ya earlier last year I wanna reconsider the future of my Blog : CLOSE or go on.
The next three weeks I just wanna post some Beatles, Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley 'items'.
Maybe YOU have some suggestions ?
EDIT 2008_01_12
I don't have any problems to find in my opinion interesting albums by Elvis Presley or the Rolling Stones.
The Beatles.... quite different. I'm not really a fan....lol.. This costs me visitors...
I already prepared for tomorrow the 1960 Paul McCartney home tapes by Beatles (aka Beatals) : The Braun-Kirchherr tapes.
But what can the next one be ? The Quarrymen (including a few seconds of Puttin' On The Style 7-6-57, their oldest known recording) ? Some BBC radio recordings ?
A or some video's ? Or maybe even their great 'alternates' the Rutles........... ?

Beatles Christmas singles for their fans only
Starting in 1963, the Beatles started recording and releasing a special 6 or 7 minutes christmas single, in the shape of a 7 inch flexidisc (looks like a single, but is thinner and made of plastic), which they had distributed to members of their official fan club. These records are very rare today and difficult to get hold of.
1) The Beatles Christmas Record December 6, 1963 (Lyntone LYN 492)
Description: Amongst christmas greetings and other things a comical rendition of Good King Wenceslas and towards the end the chorus from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Recorded Oktober 17, 1963.
2) Another Beatles Christmas Record December 18, 1964 (Lyntone LYN 757)
Description: Includes the classic Jingle Bells, individual greetings and the ending jingle Can You Wash Your Father's Shirts?
Recorded: October 26, 1964.
3) The Beatles Third Christmas Record December 17, 1965 (Lyntone LYN 948)
Description: Contains Yesterday, Happy Christmas to Ya List'nas, Auld Land Syne, the Four Top's It's the Same Old Song and Christmas Comes But Once a Year.
Recorded November 8, 1965.
4) The Beatles Fourth Christmas Record Pantomime: Everywhere It's Christmas December 16, 1966 (Lyntone LYN 1145)
Description: A Monty Python-like record (or to be more accurate, the Goon Shows) , with amongst other things Everywhere It's Christmas, Orowanya, Please Don't Bring Your Banjo Back and the dramatic mini-play Podgy the Bear and Jasper Visit Felpin Mansions.
Recorded: November 25, 1966.
5) Christmas Time Is Here Again! December 15, 1967 (Lyntone LYN 1360)
Description: includes the rocking Christmas Time is Here Again, (later released in conjunction with the Anthology-project) Plenty of Jam Jars (performed by fictional band the "Revellers"), and finally John's poem When Christmas Time is Over.
Recorded: November 28, 1967.
6) The Beatles 1968 Christmas Record December 20, 1968 (Lyntone LYN 1743/4)
Description: a collage of sounds and Fab greetings, including Happy Christmas, Happy New Year, Johns poem Jock & Yono and Once Upon a Pool Table. Guest-appearing artist Tiny Tim destroys Nowhere Man.
Recorded in November, 1968.
7) The Beatles Seventh Christmas Record December 19, 1969 (Lyntone LYN 1970/1)
Description: A visit to John and Yoko in their home, Ringo plugs his movie The Magic Christian and Paul sings This is to Wish You a Merry, Merry Christmas. George is featured only briefly.
Recorded autumn 1969.
LP: From Then To You (Title in the USA: The Beatles Christmas Album)
Released: December 18, 1970 (Apple SBC 100) USA-edition, (Apple LYN 2154) UK-edition. Description: A compilation of all these above mentioned flexis.
As with the flexis, only fan club members were given a copy of this LP. Apart from the free copy, more copies could be ordered from the fan club.
This was the first time Americans could listen to the 1963-record, since they started with the 1964 flexi. The two editions of the LP have different names and also different album sleeves. The American one is the most popular a la the British A Hard Day's Night LP, but featuring photos from different years. Both the UK and USA versions of this LP are extremely rare, and have been counterfeited several times.

Beatles 7 Christmas singles for their fans only...???
I now offer to all others these 7 singles. Added are outtakes from the 1964 & 1967 recordings.

Today 1962 Beatles : Love me do/PS I love you
Today it's 45 years ago the Beatles released their fist single. When I heard it a few days later for the first time I immediately knew this was different. A new musical era had started.
A few month's later I discovered an even better British group called The Rolling Stones. And I became fan of them. From that moment on I just talk about that 'local group from Liverpool'..... I like to tease.
Well 45 years ago was a memoriable day so I present in the comment the Beatles' first 1963 LP Please please me on which Love me do is present..
But that's not all there is to say. It's a Purple Chick double cd for fans only. It contains the mono version as well as the stereo version of the original LP. Added are a lot of alternate takes.
You have never heard of Purple Chick ?? Purple Chick is a purely online trading bootlegger who tries to make an album (artist/group) really complete.
An example : The Beach Boys Smile - a reconstruction.
Another one is the great 10CD complete Buddy Holly (10 hrs....) recordings !
Well he made the Beatles also complete (almost....). So credits to him !
Don't bother searching the web : there is no Purple Chick website.
Purple Chick writes along with his personal made cd's :
DISCLAIMER: The following work is in no way a "bootleg" made for profit or sale. The words printed on the packaging of the disc say it all - "This is a fan-created disc, and Never For Sale !!!"

Back to Love me do. Full info can be obtained at Wikipedia.
Love Me Do was recorded by the Beatles on different occasions with three different drummers:
The Beatles first recorded it on 6 June 1962 with Pete Best on drums, as part of their EMI audition at Abbey Road Studios in London.
By 4 September, Best had been replaced with Ringo Starr (producer George Martin did not approve of Best's drumming), and on that day the Beatles with Starr recorded a version again at Abbey Road Studios.
One week later, on 11 September, the Beatles returned to the same studio to discover that Martin was dissatisfied with Starr's drumming, and they made a recording of "Love Me Do" with session drummer Andy White on drums while Starr played tambourine.
On the LP (and this 2CD) is the Andy White version.
As bonus I added the two other versions of Love me do in the 'root section' of my offer.
First the original UK single version with Ringo.
Second the version with Pete Best. Personally I like this one the best. At 1.40 he starts a kinda waltz theme. This recording is a littlebit slow so I can imagine this didn't became the definitive single (also because Pete Best was replaced).
Full further info about this Purple Chick 2CD in the comment.

Beetles new album
Tomorrow a new music album will be released. It seems a certain George Martin and his son have done a great job by remastering old songs and fully using the 5.1 sound system.
I think dedicated fans of that Liverpool group will certainly want to have this.
But will other music lovers ? What will it add to everything already available ?
This ends the advertisement space I've reserved for this local Liverpool group.
It seems the price is quite fair ($10-15 or so) so no reason not to buy it.
This is also way to new so no download possibility !
I'll listen now to the greatest R'n'roll Band in the world : The Rolling Stones !!

Big Night Out
As a dedicated Rolling Stones fan I have to inform you that, with a lot of pain in my heart, I will offer you today a 15 minute TV show Beatles - Big Night Out 1964_02_23.So everyone can see for themselves the crazyness in those days.
Luckily there were also a lot of sensible people. They liked a real 'band' : The great majestic Rolling Stones !
